COMPETITION FOR MINI-GRANTS FOR BEST Civic Initiative in Vinnitsa and Khmelnytsky Oblast

The purpose of the grant competition: the development and support civic initiatives by supporting projects aimed at forming a joint implementation skills, public organizations and residents of the territorial communities for a local solution to the problem.

Priority will be given to projects that:

Maximum involvement of many civic organizations;

Contribute to the skills of the joint implementation of measures and the establishment of sustainable network associations;

Promoting civic engagement in local communities;

Are social orientation;

Maximum involvement of the project residents of communities and coincide with the objectives of the community;

Have long-term results.

Applications are accepted from:

Registered in accordance with the laws of Ukraine NGOs that operate in the Vinnytsia and Khmelnitsky.

Based on previous experience in rural communities top priorities of the mini-grants will be (the list is not final and exhaustive):

- Resolving most urgent and specific social (assistance lonely pensioners and the disabled) and environmental (cleaning of household garbage rural areas, forests, water facilities and so on.) Problems by the local community by holding various activities of direct action.

- Active involvement and motivation of citizens, local government officials to participate in volunteer initiatives interpretation of social and environmental problems of local communities, not precluded the development of school and parent committees, Issue wall newspapers).

- The prevention of infectious diseases, alcoholism among children and rural youth through thematic lectures short seminars, distribution of leaflets and posters.

- Implementation of cultural and educational initiatives by supporting the volunteer theater performances, a rural festivals and other events, to increase cultural and educational level of rural population.

- Support for local self-help groups for women, housewives, suffering from family violence, Alcoholics Anonymous, chronically unemployed and others.

The maximum size of a mini-grant provided by the project-winner - grivnevy equivalent of 500 dollars on the commercial rate in the interbank foreign exchange market at the time of the filing date (the organization that submits an application to the competition, should provide at least 25% of the budget draft their own contribution, or contributions their partners).

Not considered projects:

Political and religious organizations, state and local authorities, as well as commercial structures;

That provide a profit;

Supported by other sponsors;

Filed later deadline for final applications (14 September 2008);

Were without application forms and related applications;

In which the amount of financial support that is requested exceeds the maximum allowable size.

Projects must begin no earlier than October 1st, 2008 and end no later than 15 January, 2009 (end of the project is considered the adoption of the organizers of a report on its implementation)

The deadline for submission of projects - 14 September 2008 (the date of submission of documents is determined according to the postmark on the envelope)

Consideration of proposals are:

• Independent Commission of Experts.

• received competitive bids, not reviewed and do not return, regardless of the outcome of proceedings.

On the positive consideration to competitive bid, organizers report writing and designate the date of signing the contract after the previous instruction regarding reporting on the project.
